Frog Pond Meadow

Habitat Description:   mesic to hydric meadow bordered by riparian area to the East, North Shore Road to the South and Yellow Pine woodlands to the West and North. A California Conservation Corps crew was doing trail work and removing felled trees in the meadow during summer of 2004. They were advised of the relatively isolated population of the invasive species Centaurea xpratensis located here in the hope that they wouldn't spread it. Eradication of this species is advised before it invades neighboring meadows.

Note: This list is a work in progress and not a complete botanical survey. Also, as the primary purpose of these observations was for gathering native wildflower seed and wildflower photography, the grasses and trees are not covered in these findings.
