Our Stewardship Guidelines
Whether you are a visitor to Mount Shasta or a long-time resident, it is likely that you appreciate its natural beauty. In that we are priveleged to enjoy this remarkable landscape, it is also our responsibility to ensure that Mount Shasta remains a pristine example of nature's loveliness. These suggestions are not an attempt to dictate behavior, but rather an appeal to us not to "love it to death" and treat the mountain with care and consideration. As you venture onto its slopes, be aware of the delicate nature of many of its plant species and their habitats. Enjoy the flowers, but please do not pick them. Some are quite rare. Step lightly and with consideration. Please stay on the trails where defined, and leave Mount Shasta even more beautiful than you found it. Thank you and enjoy! The Shasta Wildflowers Project is proud to be a contributing member and grant recipient of the JEDI Stewardship Fund of Far Northern California. Please consider supporting the Stewardship Fund as a way of giving back to the land we enjoy. |
