other names- Eburophyton austinae habitat- moist rich humus-laden soil of mixed-evergreen or conifer forest range- Ca mountains and coast up to 7000 ft, N to British Columbia, E to Idaho description- strikingly white mycotrophic plant associated with fungi of the Thelophoraceae family, ages yellow to brownish, spike of flowers and sheathing linear leaves on single vertical stem up to 2 ft tall, flowers with yellow spot on lower lip petal etymology- from the Greek, kephale- head, referring to the headlike anthers of the flowers applications- dew gathered from the flowers has been used in flower essence therapy.
